Ted Baker PLC19 January 2005 19 January 2005 TED BAKER PLC CHRISTMAS TRADING STATEMENT RETAIL DIVISION Ted Baker, the designer clothing brand, is pleased to announce a 20.6%improvement in sales in its retail division for the period from 1 November 2004to 24 December 2004 against the same period last year. Ted Baker traded wellacross all collections both in the UK and overseas and retail gross margins werein line with those achieved last year. Stock levels are in line withexpectations and we will enter the new season with a clean stock position. We expect to announce our preliminary results for the 52 weeks to 29 January2005 on Thursday 17 March 2005. Commenting on trading, Ray Kelvin, Chief Executive, said: "I am delighted to report that the strong sales growth seen in the first halfhas continued during the key Christmas period, both in the UK and overseas andwe remain confident of a positive outcome for the full year."
