Telefonica O2 Czech Republic, A.S.16 July 2007 Press Release Telefonica O2 Czech Republic, a.s. has confirmed its position as main partner to State Administration Date: 16 July 2007 In the environment of an open tender, Telefonica O2 Czech Republic, a.s. has wona major part of the telecommunications solution for State Administration, knownto the public under the abbreviation KIVS (Communications Infrastructure ofPublic Administration). The whole tender was announced in the expected amount of CZK 1.7 billion.Telefonica O2 has managed to defend 55 out of 58 announced 'catalogue sheets'including telecommunications services, ranging from fixed voice services to datainfrastructure. Owing to this victory, the Company has managed to meet one ofits strategic targets and decided to support the e-Government programme, beingthe key project within the scope of developing the State Administrationinfrastructure. "Conditions of the tender were very tough and demanding, particularly in termsof parameters of the services required. I am glad that we have managed to defendour position in this open tender, confirming thus the high quality of our fixednetwork and related supplementary services. At the end of 2006, the Government of the Czech Republic approved a new Conceptof Developing the Communications Infrastructure of Public Administration(hereinafter "KIVS"). In accordance with the relevant resolutions, the Ministryof Informatics was authorized to announce a tender for a framework contract withseveral providers of KIVS services under new Act No. 137/2006 Sb., on publicprocurements (formerly referred to as the second phase of new KIVS). Time schedule of the tender: Announcement of tenders: 29 December 2006 Submission of proposal: 21 February 2007 Description of framework contract: 28 March 2007 Announcement of 2nd round: 07 May 2007 Description of Implementing Contracts: 29 May 2007 Based on the results of the tender, three providers were selected. Telefonica O2has managed to defend 49 out of 52 'catalogue sheets' in the area of datatransmission (all except 3) and to win again all 6 'catalogue sheets' in thearea of voice services.
