DIRECTORATE APPOINTMENTS
SciSys (stock code: SSY), the specialist supplier of IT services, is pleased to announce the appointment of two Non-Executive Directors to its Board.
The Board is pleased to confirm that it has with effect from 1 January 2009 appointed Prof. Dr. Klaus-Günter Meng, 49, and Prof. Dr. Ulrich Reimers, 56, as Non-Executive Directors of the Company.
Prof. Dr. Meng is founder and chief executive of VCS AG, which was acquired by SciSys plc in 2007 and has since been working closely with the SciSys Board to integrate VCS AG smoothly and successfully into the SciSys group. He holds 2,822,366 ordinary shares in SciSys (9.91%).
Prof. Dr. Reimers is a member of the Supervisory Board of VCS AG and is Managing Director of the Institut für Nachrichtentechnik at Braunschweig Technical University. Furthermore, he is chairman of the Technical Module of the DVB Project, an international consortium developing solutions for digital television worldwide. He is also is a member of the board of the German TV platform and has many years experience in the broadcasting industry.
Both bring a wealth of experience to the Board regarding SciSys' German business and its markets. A large proportion of SciSys' group revenue is now derived from its wholly owned subsidiary VCS AG.
Commenting on the appointments Mike Love, Chairman of SciSys plc, said:

Their appointment has both strengthened corporate governance within the Group and simplified corporate structure through the integration of the VCS Supervisory Board into the SciSys plc Board.'
Prof. Dr. Meng remains a director on the Executive Board of VCS AG. Prof. Dr. Meng is also a director of Dr. Meng GmbH & Co. KG and Dr. Meng Verwaltungs GmbH. There are no further disclosures to be made concerning Prof. Dr. Meng or Prof. Dr. Reimers under Schedule 2(g) of the AIM rules.
