Regal Petroleum PLC25 July 2006 Immediate Release 25 July 2006 REGAL PETROLEUM PLC ("Regal" or "the Company") Directorate Change The Company is pleased to announce that Mr Neil Ritson has joined the Board ofDirectors of Regal as a Non-Executive Director with immediate effect. Mr Ritsonis aged 50. Mr Ritson has had a lengthy career as an executive in the oil andgas industry. He trained initially as a geophysicist, obtaining a BSc inGeophysics from Southampton University, and then spent some 22 years withBritish Petroleum Plc moving through technical roles into executive management.During his time with British Petroleum Plc he was International ChiefGeophysicist and Head of Geoscience Technology, Business Unit Manager for BPNorway and Vice President Exploration for BP Alaska. Between 1999 and 2004, hewas with Burlington Resources Inc where he was initially Vice President, LondonDivision and General Manager for North Africa before being appointed VicePresident, International Business. Since 2004, Mr Ritson has been engaged as aninternational business adviser on oil and gas and energy related matters. Mr Ritson currently has no interest in shares in the Company. Mr Ritson is currently a director of NR Global Consulting Limited andPetroEnergy Limited. In the last 5 years, Mr Ritson has been a director ofBurlington Resources (Energy Services) Inc, Burlington Resources (Irish Sea)Limited, Burlington Resources (UK) Holdings Limited, and Burlington Resources(U.K.) LLC. There are no other disclosures to be made in respect of the appointment of MrRitson under paragraph 17 of the AIM Rules. The Company is also pleased to announce that Mr Ivan Bilchenko has beenappointed as the Director General of the Company's operations in Ukraine. MrBilchenko has been involved in the management of oil and gas operations in theregion over a number of years having previously worked in Ukraine and Russia.
