Restaurant Group PLC08 September 2006 THE RESTAURANT GROUP PLC ("TRG" or "The Company") Re: Directorate The Board of The Restaurant Group plc announces that Robert Ivell, who has forthe past two and a half years served as a Non-Executive Director, will step downfrom the Board with effect from 8 September 2006. Mr Ivell, who is Chairman of Regent Inns plc, has advised the Board that,following Regent's recent announcement to acquire Old Orleans and after mutualdiscussion that there may be a potential conflict of interest between thebusiness of Old Orleans and TRG's Leisure business. It is with regret, therefore, that the Board of TRG has accepted Mr Ivell'sresignation.
