Ricardo plc ("Ricardo") is a global engineering, technical, environmental and strategic consultancy business, which also manufactures and assembles low-volume, high-quality and high-performance products.
Ricardo is today providing an update ahead of its interim results in respect of the six months ended 31 December 2018. Ricardo plans to announce its interim results on 28 February 2019.
In the six-month period, the Group as a whole traded in line with our expectations and plans. Total order intake was good at just over £200m, the order book at the period end was £300m and revenue was slightly ahead of the prior period. Net debt as at 31 December 2018 was £27.5m. Our continued strategy of market sector and geographic diversification has again supported the Group. In the period, the challenging and volatile US and UK Automotive market conditions were balanced by good performances in our Performance Products business (including Software) and in all our other Technical Consulting businesses, with Energy & Environment, Defence, China Automotive and Strategic Consulting performing particularly well.
