BOARD CHANGES: NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS Premier Farnell plc, the leading multi-channel, high service distributorsupporting millions of engineers and purchasing professionals globally,announces the appointment of Gary Hughes as one of its non-executive directors,with effect from 1 November 2014. Mr Hughes is currently a senior member of the Operational Excellence team atApax Partners LLP and a non-executive director of J Sainsbury plc, Matomy MediaGroup plc, Smart Technologies Inc, and SECC Limited. His former roles includeChief Financial Officer of Gala Coral Group, Chief Executive Officer of thelargest operating division of United Business Media plc and Group FinanceDirector of Emap plc. Mr Hughes qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst& Whinney. Commenting on Mr Hughes' appointment, Premier Farnell's Chairman, Val Goodingsaid: "We are delighted to welcome Gary Hughes to the Board. His extensive experiencein finance and operational roles in a number of industries will provide avaluable addition to Premier Farnell as we continue to develop our business." There is no other information in respect of Mr Hughes that is required to bedisclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13. Dennis Millard, who has been a member of the Board since 2007 and chairs itsAudit Committee, will stand down from the Board at the end of January 2015. Atthat time, Mr Hughes will become Chairman of the Audit Committee and PaulWithers will take over as the Senior Independent Director.
