Oxus Gold PLC01 December 2005 news release For immediate release: 1st December 2005 OXUS GOLD PLC APPOINTMENT OF ALTERNATE DIRECTOR LONDON: 1 December 2005 - Oxus Gold plc ('Oxus' or the 'Company') (OXS.L) ispleased to announce that the directors of the Company have collectivelyappointed Mr Darryl Norton as an alternate director with immediate effect. MrNorton will be entitled to attend all the Company's board meetings and to votein respect of each of his appointers who is absent. He will continue to act asgroup project manager for the Company. Darryl Norton, age 44, has over 23 years' experience in the engineering andmining industry, of which 14 years were gained at MAED Limited as the ProjectsDirector, including major projects for gold mining companies such as DurbanRoodeport Deep and AngloGold. He was also responsible on behalf of MAED for theconstruction and commissioning of the Company's Amantaytau Goldfields OxideProject in Uzbekistan. Prior to joining MAED, Darryl worked on capital projectsfor Fluor, TWP, Bateman and Gencor, including surface and underground miningprojects. Bill Trew, CEO of Oxus, commented: "Darryl has already played a very significantrole in the successful development of our project portfolio, initially with MAEDand now with Oxus. We are delighted to be able to offer him greaterresponsibility within the Group as an officer of the Company." Darryl Norton is personally interested in 3,800,000 ordinary shares in theCompany, representing 1.32% of the outstanding share capital.
