EMPLOYEE BENEFIT TRUST
National Express Group PLC (the "Company") announces that it has been notified today that First Names Corporate Services Limited, as trustee of the National Express Group PLC Employee Benefit Trust (the "EBT"), has purchased 1,596,500 ordinary shares of 5 pence each in the capital of the Company ("Shares") on Thursday 13 October at an average price of 354.0138 pence per Share. An additional 150,000 shares were purchased on Friday 14 October at a price of 355.89 pence per share.
Immediately following the above transactions, the EBT held 2,261,698 shares, representing approximately 0.44% of the Company's issued share capital. It is anticipated that all Shares held by the EBT will ultimately be used to satisfy awards and options granted under the Company's various share incentive arrangements.
The Executive Directors, namely, Dean Finch and Matthew Ashley, are included in the class of potential beneficiaries of the EBT and are deemed to be interested in the Shares and the dealings thereof.
