Murgitroyd Group PLC26 October 2006 Murgitroyd Group PLC ('Murgitroyd' or 'the Group') Annual General Meeting and Directorate Change At today's Annual General Meeting, Ian Murgitroyd, Murgitroyd's Chairman, madethe following statement: "I am pleased to report that over the last five years Murgitroyd has deliveredsustainable growth and increased its market share through organic growth andselective acquisitions. "Our recent acquisition of Fitzpatricks Group Limited ('Fitzpatricks'), one ofthe UK's longest established and leading providers of Patent and Trade Markservices, has strengthened our corporate client base and further enhanced thescope of Murgitroyd's existing offering. The integration of Fitzpatricks hasgone well and is now substantially complete. "Internal training continues to be an integral part of the Group's culture and Iam delighted to report that four Attorneys have successfully passed the EuropeanQualifying Examinations whose results were announced recently. The total numberof 196 employees now includes 48 qualified Attorneys. "Furthermore, the Group's contract with Queen's University in Belfast has beenextended by another year. Queen's University is one of Murgitroyd's biggest andmost prestigious clients and we are delighted by its vote of confidence in ourabilities. "Our plans to open the Group's first office in Italy are continuing withregistration formalities and the search for suitable office accommodation wellunderway. In addition to the previously announced new office in Italy, I amalso pleased to announce that we will be opening an office in Edinburgh beforethe end of the year which will be headed up by three qualified Attorneys. Thesetwo additional offices will bring the Group's network to eleven offices in sevenEuropean countries. "I believe that Murgitroyd is well positioned to continue the past success andtrading in the first four months of the new financial year has beenencouraging." Murgitroyd is also pleased to announce the appointment of Graham Murnane as anExecutive Director to the Board with immediate effect. Mr Murnane (47) is"Director, Professional Practice" at Murgitroyd & Company Limited, the Group'sprincipal subsidiary. Prior to Murgitroyd, Mr Murnane, who is a QualifiedChartered Engineer and has a MA in Engineering from Cambridge University, was anExaminer at the European Patent Office in Munich.
