Minco PLC06 June 2005 MINCO PLC Increased Resource - La Zacatecana - Mexico * Lake based resource over 9 million tonnes* Silver equivalent resource increased by 21% London 6 June 2005: AIM listed precious metals developer Minco plc (MIO)('Minco', 'the Company') announces today that the total resource estimate forthe in-lake tailings at the La Laguna Zacetecana silver tailings project hasincreased from 7.6 million tonnes to 9 million tonnes. This follows evaluation additional drilling completed after the feasibilitystudy report of October 2004. This resource estimate has been completed by MiconInternational of Toronto as part of the Bankable Feasibility Study. As a resultthe total silver equivalent resource contained in the lake has also increasedfrom 26 million to 32 million ounces. "The increase in resources at La Laguna reinforces our decision to increase theplant design throughput from 1 million tonnes per annum to 1.25 million tonnes.These results, allied with indicative increases in metal recoveries in thecurrent study will greatly enhance the project economics. We also believe thereis a considerable potential for additional resources in the tailings around thelake which we will evaluate at a later date. The drilling programme at Minera Sisa started last month and drilling, with ourpartner Noranda Inc, on the Pallas Green property in Ireland is underway.
