Lavendon Group plc ("Lavendon" or the "Company")

RESPONSE TO STATEMENT OF INTENTION FROM ASHTEAD GROUP PLC ("ASHTEAD") AND TVH SERVICES N.V. ("TVH") NOT TO MAKE A FIRM OFFER FOR LAVENDON

The Board of Lavendon notes the announcement issued today by Ashtead and TVH that they will not proceed with an offer for the Company.

John Standen, Lavendon's Chairman, commented:

"I'm delighted that this uncertainty has been removed. We have a clear set of objectives to enhance shareholder value and Lavendon is very well positioned. With a strengthened Board, supportive shareholders and the business review significantly progressed, we are looking forward to the future with confidence."
