Lonrho Africa PLC23 February 2005 For immediate release 23 February 2005 Lonrho Africa Plc ("Lonrho Africa" or "the Company") Notification of Interests in Shares In accordance with the provisions of Sections 198-202 Companies Act 1985, thedirectors of Lonrho Africa were formally notified on 18 February 2005 of thefollowing interests in the share capital of Lonrho Africa: 1. that Blakeney Management Ltd and Miles Morland are interested in aggregate, as a result of the purchase of 250,000 ordinary shares of 20p each ("Shares") on 6 September 2004, 643,000 Shares on 7 September 2004 and 1,200,000 Shares on 15 October 2004, in 20,858,000 Shares representing approximately 13.24 per cent. of the Company's issued ordinary share capital; 2. that Development Partners International L.P. is interested, as a result of the sale of 1,200,000 Shares on 7 April 2004, 1,000,000 Shares on 6 May 2004, 900,000 Shares on 22 October 2004, 200,000 Shares on 2 November 2004, 200,000 Shares on 26 November 2004 and 350,000 Shares on 3 January 2005, in 2,277,000 Shares representing approximately 1.45 per cent. of the Company's issued ordinary share capital; and 3. that Blakeney L.P. is interested, as a result of the purchase of 870,000 Shares on 6 May 2004, the purchase of 1,000,000 Shares on 15 October 2004, the purchase of 200,000 Shares on 22 October 2004, the sale of 300,000 Shares on 2 November 2004 and the purchase of 100,000 Shares on 26 November 2004, in 6,040,000 Shares representing approximately 3.83 per cent. of the Company's issued ordinary share capital. The interests of Development Partners International L.P. and Blakeney L.P. areincluded within the interests of Blakeney Management Ltd and Miles Morlandabove. Accordingly, the registered holder of the 20,858,000 Shares in respect ofwhich interests were notified is Euroclear Nominees.
