11th March 2008 INTERSERVE WINS OVER ‚£200m UK AND MIDDLE EAST CONTRACTS

Interserve, the services, maintenance and building group, announces that it has won contracts in the United Kingdom and the Middle East with a combined value of more than ‚£200 million:

* Preferred bidder on a five-year contract with the Home Office, worth over ‚£ 100 million, for the provision of facilities management (FM) services throughout the UK * One of four companies to have secured a place on the Home Office's Fit-Out and Refurbishment framework agreement with an overall potential value of ‚£ 200 million. * Its UAE associate company has won a ‚£120 million contract, of which Interserve's share is worth ‚£60 million, to build the infrastructure for the Al Furjan development in Dubai.

The FM contract, which can be extended for an additional two years, will cover south-west, north-east and north-west England, Wales and Scotland. Interserve will provide services ranging from maintenance, security, energy management, portering and reception to cleaning, housekeeping, catering and hospitality. The portfolio, covering 575 buildings, includes offices, training centres, residential accommodation and approved premises for the Ministry of Justice (the National Offender Management Service including the National Probation Service), the Home Office and its sponsored bodies. The contract is expected to begin in June.

The four-year Fit-Out and Refurbishment framework agreement will also involve services for businesses across the Home Office and the Ministry of Justice. The estates are geographically dispersed throughout England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland and include those belonging to the Border and Immigration Agency, the National Police Improvement Agency and the National Probation Service. The programme of work includes interior fit-out, refurbishment, general construction, mechanical and electrical works and new-build projects on a design-and-build basis. The framework has been created to drive improved value for money and better process integration across the breadth of the Home Office estates function, with the intention of ensuring that the quality of solutions improves continuously.

The Al Furjan development in Jebel Ali, Dubai, will consist primarily of residential and commercial buildings/units which also include villas & townhouses, amenities, services and public facilities. Interserve's associate company, Khansaheb, has won the contract to build the infrastructure to support the development (the ‚£60 million contract value represents Interserve's share). This includes the provision of roads, the sewerage system, including two underground pump stations and rising mains, the primary irrigation pipeline system, the fire-fighting system, potable water supply including a booster pump station, telecommunications ductwork, electrical distribution, street lighting and 11kV and low voltage power infrastructure. The project continues the relationship with the Nakheel Group of companies through which we have built the Greg Norman "Earth" and "Fire" golf courses for Jumeirah Golf Estates, are involved in the ongoing roll-out programme for Easy Hotels and have undertaken infrastructure works at the Waterfront project.

Adrian Ringrose, Interserve Chief Executive, remarked, "The twin successes with the Home Office in the UK show the value of our ability to provide services across the whole life of properties and other assets, while the exciting win in Dubai is testament to the effectiveness of our long-term partnering approach. We shall be building on our relationships in both cases as we deliver the facilities and the services that enable our clients to achieve their business objectives."
