Mr Thomas, 43, brings to Hardman over 13 years of experience in finance withinthe international oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) industry, mostrecently in private equity projects and consulting assignments in the UK, andformerly in a career with the international E&P independent, Enterprise Oil plc. At Enterprise, Mr Thomas held a number of senior positions, including GroupFinancial Controller, Group Treasurer and Head of Planning. In these roles hecompleted several major financings in the international capital markets, wasinvolved in a range of corporate and asset transactions whilst being extensivelyinvolved in group strategy and planning, performance analysis and investmentappraisal. Prior to its acquisition by Royal Dutch Shell, Enterprise Oil was one of theworld's leading independent (E&P) companies with operations in 13 countriesworldwide, production of over 240,000 boe per day and stock exchange listings inLondon and New York. Mr Thomas will be based at Hardman's headquarters in Perth, commencing 1September 2005. He joined Enterprise Oil plc in London in 1991 as a Senior Manager withparticular responsibilities for the group's international financial operationsand financial planning. He was appointed Group Financial Controller in 1992 andthen became Group Treasurer in 1997, in which role he also had responsibilitiesfor investor relations. In 1999 he was appointed Head of Planning and GroupTreasurer. In these roles he completed several major financings in theinternational markets, was involved in numerous corporate and asset transactionsand had a major role in group strategy and planning, performance analysis andinvestment appraisal. Since leaving Enterprise Oil shortly after its acquisition by Royal Dutch Shell,he has been engaged in a number of private equity projects and interimassignments within the UK E&P sector. Peter is an English Chartered Accountant and holds a BSc degree from theUniversity of Bristol, England. He is a British national and will be relocatingto Perth with his family.
