("GSInc") and its subsidiary companies were interested in a total of 5,873,220ordinary shares in Faroe Petroleum, which represents 10.62 per cent. of thetotal issued share capital of the Company. Of the 5,873,220 ordinary shares, the interest in 4,623,220 ordinary sharesarose from an interest held by Goldman Sachs & Co., a wholly-owned directsubsidiary of GS Inc, acting as custodian for its customers and the interest in1,250,000 ordinary shares arose from a beneficial interest held by Goldman SachsInternational, a wholly-owned indirect subsidiary of GS Inc.
