Appointment of Non-Executive Director
Fyffes plc is pleased to announce that Robert Johnston (47) has joined the Board as a non-executive director with immediate effect. He is Chief Strategy Officer with The InterTech Group, Inc. in South Carolina, which manages a diverse group of businesses, including a number of strategic investments in various public companies. Arising from this role, he is currently and has been a director of several businesses including a number of listed companies in the US and Canada. He was also previously President and CEO of The Hudson's Bay Company, which is Canada's largest multi-line retailer.
Full details of his current and past directorships within the last ten years will be provided under a separate regulatory filing. There are no other items requiring disclosure in accordance with Schedule 2(g) of the AIM Rules and the ESM Rules. Mr Johnston currently owns 7,000 ordinary shares in Fyffes plc, representing 0.002% of the shares in issue.
Commenting on this appointment, Fyffes' Chairman, David McCann said:
