esure Group plc: Appointment of New Non-Executive Director

esure Group plc announces that the Board has today appointed Mike Evans, Chairman of Hargreaves Lansdown, as an independent Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.
Peter Wood, Chairman, said:
"Mike will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge within the insurance and broader financial services sector to the esure Board. As a newly-listed company, the input of someone who has operated at his level both as an actuary and a director makes him an excellent addition to an already strong Board."

esure Overview
esure Group plc (the 'Group') is a UK-focused personal lines insurer founded in 2000 by Peter Wood, the foremost general insurance entrepreneur in the UK and the Group's Chairman. The Group also owns 50 per cent of top-four UK insurance price comparison website, Gocompare.com.
The Group was admitted on the main market of the London Stock Exchange on 27th March 2013. Its IPO followed three years after a management buy-out had made the Group independently owned.
The Group has established a strong platform for growth and a track record of profitability. It has achieved this against a backdrop of challenging market conditions through a disciplined and conservative approach to its motor underwriting business and the application of the same philosophy in growing its home underwriting business.
In 2012, the Group also launched its branded broker services under the esure and Sheilas' Wheels brands. It became the first motor insurer in Europe to offer car insurance quotations via facebook in February 2013.
