Electra Investment Trust PLC04 January 2006 Electra Investment Trust PLC - Portfolio Update 4 January 2006 Electra Investment Trust PLC ("Electra") announces that as at 31 December 2005,its ten largest investments were: HBOS Treasury Floating Rate Notes Barclays Bank Floating Rate Notes European Investment Bank Floating Rate Notes Inchcape Shipping Services UK Rail Floating Rate Notes Allflex Abbey National Floating Rate Notes Nationwide Floating Rate Notes Alliance & Leicester Floating Rate Notes Freightliner Please note that in a regulatory announcement made on 3 January 2006, Electraannounced that it had exchanged contracts for the sale of Inchcape ShippingServices, which will give rise to an increase in Electra's net asset value since30 September 2005 of £64.76 million, representing an uplift in net asset valueof 148.84p per share from the net asset value of 1,177.22p as at 30 September2005 (exclusive of the proposed special dividend of 20p per share which wasannounced in December 2005). The list of investments shown above was calculated on the basis of the assetvaluation at 30 September 2005 adjusted to reflect completed purchases and salesof investments, currency movements and mid market values in respect of listedinvestments and unlisted investments where these are valued by reference toquoted prices. This list includes all investments with a value greater than 5% of Electra'sgross assets at 31 December 2005. This announcement was made in accordance with the Listing Rule 15.4.10 (2) whichrequires, inter alia, UK listed investment companies to notify to a RegulatoryInformation Service, within two business days of the end of each quarter, a listof all investments with a value greater than 5% of the company's gross assetsand at least the company's ten largest investments as at the last business dayof that quarter.
