Gemstones of Africa Plc (GOA), the AIM listed explorer focused on Tanzania, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Simon Rollason as Non-Executive Chairman with effect from 1 June 2009. He replaces David Hargreaves who will continue with the Company as Managing Director.
Simon brings a wealth of experience to the company having worked in mining and geological exploration in Africa, Middle East, Central Asia and the Far East with both multi-nationals and junior resources companies. He has been involved with and managed operations which have varied from exploration and evaluation projects to successful feasibility studies. Over the past 18 years he has gained experience working on a broad spread of commodities ranging from grassroots exploration through to producing assets. Simon is currently the Managing Director of Obtala Resources Plc.
