Electrocomponents appoints new Non-Executive Director

Electrocomponents plc, the global distributor for engineers, is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Pryce as Non-Executive Director of the Company. His appointment will become effective on 26 September 2016.

Simon is Group Chief Executive of BBA Aviation plc, a market leading provider of global aviation support and aftermarket services, with large interests in the United States. Previously, he worked at GKN, initially in various financial roles, and latterly as Chief Executive of their Diversified Business Group. Simon is a Chartered Accountant and has previously worked in investment banking.

Peter Johnson commented: "We are all delighted that Simon will be joining the Electrocomponents Board. His breadth of experience will be extremely valuable to the Group."

There is no additional information to disclose in relation to LR 9.6.13.

Simon Pryce - Career Summary

Mr Pryce has been Group Chief Executive at BBA Aviation plc (since 2007), having held a number of senior operational and finance positions at GKN plc (1998 - 2007). He was previously Senior Vice President at JP Morgan & Co and a Director at Lazard, having qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Price Waterhouse. Mr Pryce holds a BSc from the University of Reading, where he is currently a Council Member. He is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment, a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and a Director of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association. He is based in Oxfordshire.
