Interim Management Statement
Cathay International Holdings Limited (the "Company") announces its Interim Management Statement for the period from 1 July to 19 November 2010 in accordance with the UK Listing Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
Investment in Zhejiang Starry Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. ('Starry')
On 16 November 2010, Lansen Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited ("Lansen"), the Company's subsidiary listed on the main board of the Hong Kong Exchange announced the proposed acquisition of a 20% equity interest in Starry. On the same date, the Company announced the proposed acquisition of a 1.5% equity interest in Starry. The investment by Lansen and the Company is conditional upon receipt of the relevant government approval for the transfer of equity interests and an application for approval has been submitted.
Financial performance and financial position of the Group
The financial performance of the Group in the period since 30 June 2010 has been in line with the Company's expectations, and the outlook for the full year remains unchanged from that expressed in our interim results announcement on 26 August 2010.
There has been no significant change in the financial position of the Group since that reported as at 30 June 2010.
