Proposed placing
The Company notes the recent rumour and speculation and confirms that, in order to provide capital to invest in a number of graphene related opportunities, the Directors recently sought to raise approximately £300,000 - £400,000 of new equity capital at a small discount to the current mid market price. However, due to, inter alia, difficult market conditions, the fundraising was not able to be successfully implemented. The Directors therefore will consider a possible fundraising in conjunction with a suitable investment opportunity or opportunities, later in 2014, subject to prevailing market conditions and the terms being acceptable.
It is intended to put the presentation used by the Company's Directors in the recent fundraising exercise on the Cientifica website shortly.
Tim Harper said: "Although it has not been possible to complete the fundraising, we remain excited about a number of graphene related investment opportunities that we have been reviewing and we look forward to returning to the market to seek funding for these opportunities at a more appropriate time."
