Re: Site Visit & Current Trading

Site Visit 

On 25 September Carpetright is holding a site visit for analysts to Harris House, its new headquarters, cutting and distribution centre at Purfleet, Essex. The purpose of the visit is to update analysts on this new state-of-the-art facility and to demonstrate the advantages it brings to the Company.  

During the course of the visit, analysts will be given a presentation on the business case for the investment in the new site, including details of its impact on the Company's cost base and operating efficiencies. The presentation will be followed by a tour of the site. A copy of the presentation will be available on the Carpetright website, www.carpetright.co.uk on the afternoon of the visit.

Current Trading

Following the publication of the Company's Q1 Interim Management Statement on 5 August 2008, no further statement on current trading will be made in conjunction with the site visit.

Carpetright's next trading update is scheduled for 28 October 2008, when management will have the necessary information available to give a clearer view on the outlook for the full year. However, at the time of its Q1 IMS the Company said that the UK floor coverings market had become more difficult, having previously said in its preliminary results statement that this year would be one of the most difficult Carpetright has experienced.  October and November are important trading months and performance during this period could materially affect the year end result.  This, together with continued low levels of consumer confidence due to higher inflation and the further deterioration in the housing and financial markets, result in management remaining cautious about its expectations for the full financial year.
