DIRECTORS'/PDMR INTERESTS IN SHARES
1. The Board of Carpetright plc (the "Company") announces today that the following awards (the "Awards") to acquire ordinary shares of £0.01 each in the Company ("Ordinary Shares") granted under the Company's 2004 Long Term Incentive Plan were exercised by the following Directors/PDMRs of the Company on 28 October 2008:

2. This notification relates to transactions notified in accordance with DR 3.1.4R(1)(a).
3. Lord Harris and Mr M Harris have each purchased 350,000 shares @ £4.24 per share from a company within the Harris Ventures Group. Messrs C Harris and M Harris have purchased jointly 50,000 shares @ £4.375 per share from the same source. In aggregate, the Harris family interests remain unchanged.
4. The beneficial shareholdings for Lord Harris and Mr M Harris are now 15,481,264 shares (23%) and 1,276,259 shares (1.9%), respectively.
