British Polythene Industries PLC (the "Company")

Employee Share Ownership Trust Acquisition of Shares

The Company has been informed that the Trustees of the British Polythene Industries Plc Employee Share Ownership Trust ("ESOT") have acquired, on 1 June 2010, 100,000 Ordinary shares of 25p each in the Company at a price of £2.18 per share. The shares were acquired for use in the ESOT. Mr JT Langlands, Mr D Harris, Mr D Duthie, Mr A Green, Mr M Huyghe, Dr D Pendlebury and Dr I McDarmaid, as Executive Directors and PDMRs of the Company, are beneficiaries of the ESOT and as such they have an interest in the shares for the purposes of DTR 3.1.
