Avocet Mining PLC03 April 2008 Avocet Mining PLC ("Avocet" or the "Company") Share Incentive Plan Directors' Shareholding The Trustees of the Avocet Employee Share Incentive plan ("SIP") informed theCompany today that it had released 20,688 ordinary shares of 5p each ("Shares")in the Company to the beneficial ownership of plan members of the SIP. These SIPshares, having vested after a five year period, were allocated to employees ofthe Company as deferred share bonus awards in 2003. As a result of the releasesthe Trustees of the SIP now holds a total of 71,342 ordinary shares,representing 0.06 per cent of the ordinary share capital in issue of theCompany. Jonathan Henry, the Company's Chief Executive Officer, received 10,344 Sharesfrom the SIP. This brings his holding to 791,470 Shares, representing 0.66 percent of the issued share capital.
