Significant Zinc and Lead Mineralisation Discovered in Lough SheelinIreland

Highlights:

> Zinc and lead in five holes

> Mineralisation similar to that of the Tara mine at Navan

> Zone open to the North and East

> Second phase drilling planned

Connemara Mining, the AIM listed (AIM: CONN) Irish zinc explorer is pleased to report results from their exploratory drilling programme in the Lough Sheelin area of Cavan/Meath in central Ireland. Five of the eleven drillholes intersected significant zinc/lead mineralisation as shown in Table 1 below. The other six holes had only traces of or no zinc/lead mineralisation.

The target in this block of five licences is a Navan style deposit similar to the giant Tara zinc mine 25km to the east. The drilling focused on the Drumlerry area, where historic work had indicated some potential for zinc and lead mineralisation

Connemara considers the mineralisation intersected to be highly significant for a number of reasons:

> It has extended the limits of the envelope of carbonate hosted, low/medium grade mineralisation

at Drumlerry;

> The style of the mineralisation is very similar to the low/medium grade mineralisation that forms an

extensive halo around the Navan deposit;

> It provides clear evidence that a quite powerful mineralising system was active in this region;

> The zone of mineralisation remains open to the north and west.

The drilling at Drumlerry is very widely spaced, with holes 250-500m apart and there is scope for high grade lenses of massive sulphide mineralisation to occur within the defined mineralised envelope. There is also potential for significant mineralisation to lie to the north and west in a region that remains untested by diamond drilling. The ongoing exploration programme will test both the prospectivity within the identified mineralised envelope and in the unexplored region to the north and west. Work will also continue on two other high priority targets on the Lough Sheelin Block.

John Teeling, Chairman of Connemara Mining commented;

"We are delighted with these results. What began as a five hole scouting drill programme was extended to eleven holes because of favourable results. These results are very significant, the mineralisation is similar to the halo around the Tara mine and the zone is open to the north and west. A follow up drilling programme is planned to begin in the coming months.

The second Connemara zinc discovery, at Limerick some 100 miles to the southwest of Lough Sheelin is being drilled at present by our partner, Teck Cominco. First results of this second phase programme are due next week."

This release has been approved by Graham Reid, P. Geo., Director BRG Technical Services, consultants to Connemara. Mr. Reid has 30 years mineral exploration and evaluation experience.
