Results of Placing

Amerisur Resources Plc (AIM: AMER), is pleased to announce the successful completion of the equity placing (the "Placing") announced yesterday. A total of 70,000,000 new Ordinary Shares (the "Placing Shares") have been placed by RBC Capital Markets, acting as sole bookrunner in relation to the Placing, at a price of 37.5 pence per share (a discount of 1.1 per cent. to the VWAP on 10 October 2012), raising gross proceeds of £26.25 million (approximately US$42 million).

The Placing Shares represent approximately 7.3 per cent. of the Ordinary Shares currently in issue. The Placing Shares will be issued credited as fully paid and will rank pari passu with the existing Ordinary Shares, including the right to receive all dividends and other distributions declared, made or paid on or in respect of such shares after the date of issue of the Placing Shares.

Application has been made for the Placing Shares to be admitted to trading on AIM and dealings and settlement are expected to commence on 16 October 2012. Following the Placing the revised total number of shares in issue is 1,031,633,831.

Definitions in the Company's announcement of 4.35 p.m. on 10 October 2012 shall have the same meaning in this announcement unless the context otherwise requires.
