BOARD RE-APPOINTMENT AT AIB
Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c., ("AIB") announces that Mr. Sean O'Driscoll's term as a Non-Executive Director has been extended until the 2010 Annual General Meeting. Mr. O'Driscoll was due to stand down from the Board on 6 September 2009 on the expiry of his 3-year term, because of other business commitments, but has agreed to remain on the Board for a transitional period in order to assist in the recruitment process for a new Group Chief Executive and the changeover to new leadership at AIB. Mr. O'Driscoll is a member of the Board sub-committee tasked with identifying and recommending to the Board a new Group Chief Executive.
