Broomfielder...yes unfortunately the only way to learn the big investment lessons is through deep cuts. From my experience the only way to operate successfully over the long term is with rules based investing. Operating on emotion will get you into trouble real fast, and there will be many who have jumped on here in the past few days who have done just that. The initial emotion will have been euphoria at having backed the right horse and heading for a big winner. The current emotion will be one of hope that it comes back some day and the loss is turned into at least break even. Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't , some will get lucky, some won't, but over the long term this kind of emotion based investing is a losing game.

Broomfielder - I bailed out completely a couple of months back at a massive loss. Despite this I learned some very important investment lessons from Rurelec:
i) Never buy into a good story alone - let's face it, Peter Earl was a great story teller but a charlatan
ii) Get out at the first sign of trouble and utilise hard stops (for me, 15% on entry, and thereafter 20%)
iii) Never buy into seemingly 'guaranteed' good news ahead of an RNS (Bolivian debacle)
iv) Never chase a share with FOMO (as evidenced here over the past few days and recent chasers nursing heavy losses).

Every cloud has a silver lining and all that!

Having had a 'relationship' with RUR for over 10 years I have watched the events of the past few days unfold with great interest. Initially having got in at 70p or thereabouts I saw my (rather considerable) stake whittled down to a fraction of a penny. Along the way there have been many disappointments, which are well documented here for those of you who have the desire to dig deeper. The significant discount to NAV has never been in dispute, the question rather has been would ever PI's ever see that discount to NAV being closed. It could be that there is something concrete behind the recent surge in interest, on the other it could be just yet another false dawn. For those of you in for a quick buck you pays your money you takes your chances, but as ever - Caveat Emptor!

Yep. Taking into consideration the aforementioned tailwinds, it's perfectly reasonable to expect the all time high of 20p to be eclipsed before this gold bull run is done and dusted.

Nice to see the absence of the rampers we had back in Jan with the initial surge. I take that as a very positive sign. POG on a rip and increasingly positive news emanating from the GDP camp ..... steady as she goes!

Yep, very positive RNS. With strong outlook for gold this looks set for a major re-rate.

Yep, the fact that the drop was not greater with 1million shares dumped has to be seen as bullish. With gold now having broken major resistance this has to be a cheap gold play....

Rising steadily with an uptick in volume, also look at that beautiful cup and handle. POG very supportive

That 52K sale weighed down on the share price for a while. Definite pick up in volume yesterday.

Looks like we're headed for another downturn in the markets. If gold is able to decouple from the downward trend like it did in the GFC then this is a no-brainer.

As a Metro business account holder of a few years I have to say I find the online service really good. Great user interface, great app, no issues with service - from a customer perspective I find it really good. From an investment perspective, with a P/B of around 0.12 this has to be worth a punt on the basis it won't go bust, so I'm in!
