Or maybe out at 99p and now back in again. 5% is 5%.
I can't see this going near 50p myself, (though 85p wouldn't be a surprise).
I tend to agree. It is at least holding its own so far today in a sea of troubles!
This looks like a good buy in price to me too, even if just looking for rise into Ex Div 16th Nov @28.8p
Thanks both. :-)
Sadly, this board has rarely been worth reading for a long time, but somehow seems to be getting even worse.
It would be so uplifiting to find some sensible (and maybe even informative and helpful ) contributions when new posts are flagged, rather than yet more self indulgent ramblings and responses to them.
Thanks NorrisCole. Helpful comments that seem to make sense. Hopefully it will bottom out sooner rather than later.
Has anyone any suggestions why this continues to be in (sharp) decline? I haven't seen any bad news myself and would be expecting it to be holding above 1000.
Thanks. All causing a general uplift across the market this afternoon.
Interesting rise today. Have I missed some news?
Jonny, did you return them today?
Indeed. It will be good if it would stay there - and my dividend arrived. :-)
Good morning all.
It's not looking like a great day today, but I'm hoping/expecting this will continue to slowly recover to at least its pre dividend price.
Before I contact my brokers, I'd be grateful to know if anyone else is still waiting to receive their dividend payment, which I believe was due on June 4th and I had expected to have arrived in my account by now?
Many thanks
Could anyone clarify dividend payments for me?
Has this actually gone ex-dividend? I thought they changed the ex dividend date from the 7th to the 11th as below.
BP p.l.c. announces the following correction to 'Note 9. Dividends' to the financial statements included in the BP p.l.c. Group results, First quarter 2020 released on 28 April 2020* (the "First quarter 2020 results announcement"):
The 'Dividends payable' section of 'Note 9. Dividends' in the First quarter 2020 results announcement contained incorrect record dates. The correct record date for the payment of the first quarter interim dividend to ordinary shareholders and American Depositary Share holders is 11 May 2020 (not 7 May 2020 and 8 May 2020, respectively, as stated in the First quarter 2020 results announcement).
"BP today announced an interim dividend of 10.50 cents per ordinary share which is expected to be paid on 19 June 2020 to ordinary shareholders and American Depositary Share (ADS) holders on the register on 11 May 2020."
Purple, I personally have no interest in trying to influence others with "predictions" in such a volatile market, and I would caution all if they were to be foolish enough to pay any attention to yours. I do recall in May 2018 you said.
"Furthermore, this company won't exist in 12 months (least not on AIM). Potential! Potentially I could win the Lotto tomorrow, more chance that than this company developing anything other than a massive debt."
Also, I am not quite sure why you have to use * in your comments; an attempt to imply a naughty word and another reflection of your obvious immaturity?
Finally, I would suggest you should seek professional help regarding your obsessive paranoia regarding Freddie. No, I am not he.
Ah, the delightful purple acne again.
Remember this from December 2018?
"Dear 'No-Opinion' I think it's unfair you predicting a 50% upside. Some people actually are foolhardy enough to listen to you. You're not even right as often as a stopped clock. There's far far more chance of this hitting 27p than it has of hitting 72p. Let's see who is right. They have cash in the bank, but that will soon be spent and still not a pot washed. Freddie Freddie Freddie, when will you admit defeat? You've been promising 'jam tomorrow' for 10 years. Why can we never have jam today?"
Do you have anything to add now?
"Those that do, gamble that the share goes down, those that don’t short gamble it will go up, respect that, it is their position. I hope it will go up!"
which is where the problem lies. Rather than investing in a project that will provide long term employment and sustainable economic growth for community, country and hence benefit for all, people are gambling that a company will fail for nothing but their own self-interest. It is sadly the nature of the world, that we allow such behaviour to too often be rewarded.
Oh dear; purpleacne turning into a paranoid Father Jack but with less eloquence and resorting to the asterisk to disguise abusive language. Should be ashamed! A pity that what had been an enjoyable board with interesting contributions should be reduced to this. I guess I will have to resort to the filter. No, I am not Freddie, nor on anyone's "team", I am my own man and do not approach investing as a puerile game where I am looking to "wipe the floor" with people to prop up my fragile ego. However, I do agree that there is no trading to be done here now, and I would expect a gradual decline in SP over the coming months. Fortunately there were more positive times in the past and I have cleared my original investment and so am happy to let it ride. I think the Science is good, but the PR is not. I think in time the Science will win out and could transform many peoples lives as a consequence. Let us hope so. Good luck all, whatever decisions you take..
