A reminder to board19 Jun 2025 13:40
RNS Posted on 10th June
The Board of Caledonian Holdings believe that the financial prospects for AlbaCo are very encouraging and it is understood that these have been tested by the regulators as part of their licensing case. The award of a full banking licence is, we understand, IMMINENT.
It is now 19th June,..so what is the point in using the word imminent?
Understanding Imminent.
Definitions Matter: “Imminent” refers to an event that is about to occur without delay.
Contextual Usage: Accurately using the word imminent in this scenario should enhance clarity and urgency in communication, maybe not the case here and therefore the RNS was incorrectly worded.
Emotional Impact: Anticipating imminent events often leads to anxiety, would imagine that was not the intention of the author.
A word of advice , think before you type in future.
