Oh, and as a further thought, KEFI has what should become a multi billion dollar asset even if the gold price drops to say $3,000 so against a current MCap of around £150m why are people getting worried, it’s times like this where you have an opportunity to top up if you’re in it for the long term - all IMO and DYOR.

The gold price has taken a dive because the price of oil has rocketed. As a result there are upward inflation pressures and the Fed and world banks are unlikely to reduce interest rates as a tool to try and temper inflation. As gold does not produce an income/interest return, investors will be attracted back to bonds etc as interest rates may rise. Also the dollar has got stronger as a result of oil price increases so money may have gone out of gold and into dollars. Whether this position is temporary (ie couple of weeks or so) no one knows. While KEFI is not yet a producer (and therefore the price of gold should matter more in 2 years rather than now) the costs of construction may increase in an inflationary environment. If gold price holds up I expect the revenues to be applied firstly against the debt and then a combination of funding further projects and dividends in a balanced way.

The last update (very encouraging) was last November with mention of interested parties and enforcement of the debt plus interest and costs, which when received, would equate to the current MCap meaning that HMS and diamonds would be as good as freebies. Surely 4 months on and mindful of the positivity of the November RNS we are due a further update!

Based on current SP of 0.85p, if the Aftan monies plus interest are received then that roughly equates to the current MCap meaning the diamonds and HMS are freebies. If…….

If the absence of a bank guarantee is the true reason for the deal not going ahead, there are ways around this without requiring a bank guarantee on the second tranche; hopefully this is what Roland is exploring. One way is to hive out the non-Cambay assets out of SYN and then sell the entire issued share capital of SYN to Selan for the first tranche in cash and then an instrument in Selan (shares, preference shares or a secured loan note in the acquiring SYN company) for value equal to the second tranche. If we got Selan shares we would be exposed to the future of Cambay (good or bad) along with other Selan shareholders. If Cambay succeeds we all succeed, if it fails then Selan’s liability would be limited to the first tranche amount. I’d be happy to go along with something like that - this assumes Selan are being genuine in their dealings with Roland

We now need Roland to tell us how much of the funding carry by Selan we have left re the prior sale of the first 50% of Cambay - it might still be a good chunk as Selan has hardly been busy progressing the development of this asset.

Well the SP was a lot more than this prior to the announcement back in the Summer to sell to Selan; is the half share SYN holds and may continue to hold worth more than (a) the current MCap of circa £1m and / or (b) the prior Selan offer of $14m? This news actually might work in SYNs favour unless it’s all a ruse to drop the price.

We know the range of value per trailer, but how many trailers? That is, what is the value of HE1 revenue stream going to be? It is vague, but didn’t I read somewhere an expectation of $1. - 1.5m revenue per annum - in other words a nice tick over for cash flow but Tanzania is where the real action will (or won’t) be?

No, in one of the more recent RNS or Q&A on website it refers to a significant proportion. I would have preferred he’d used the word substantial rather than significant- we wait and see what significant means.

I wonder whether shareholders want to go forward with all this CCS nonsense and that most were really only interested in Cambay. If so, is there anyway we can force a members voluntary liquidation once Cambay is sold and get ALL of the money returned to shareholders? If there’s a means, might be worth pursuing.

Carrot, even if it delists, who is going to sell at that price when a significant proportion of the Cambay proceeds will be paid as a return to shareholders? I think 0.006p is as low as it gets unless he does a placing.

The deadline to vote is today, the meeting is on the 29th (nicely timed between Christmas and the New Year) and unfortunately I can’t go, hope a delisting voter can. If people have been truthful replying to Gordon re their voting intentions then I think it will be close, hopefully the ‘other side’ didn’t have a Gordon and are apathetic.
