Evolution Securities maintains its rating for Wellstream Holdings (WSM.LN) at buy with a target price of 750p, as it expects the trading update on Nov. 17 to highlight the tough current environment with low utilization at Newcastle. However, Evo expects Floating Production Storage and Offloading orders to increase in 1H 2010 and absolute level of orders to rise in 2011 leading to higher plant utilization and increased revenue. Evo has penciled in 2009 pretax profit of GBP52.8M. Shares -0.8% at 512p."
I cut my losses today! Will keep an eye on this - I think its a good product and once the licensing side of things takes off I think it will do well, but I think I might be able to make my money work better for me elsewhere in the short term. Good luck all
delete my previous statement! Trading update no good, but distribution partners good news. http://www.advfn.com/p.php?pid=nmona&cb=1255589592&article=39900510&symbol=L%5EAXS http://www.advfn.com/p.php?pid=nmona&cb=1255589592&article=39900427&symbol=L%5EAXS
Thanks for that info. Very interesting. It definitely looks to me as if things are picking up.
historical data after all, so I cant make anything of that. If it turns out to be an historical directors sell it will show up eventually on the directors dealings page.
There is a 2m buy late today @ 0.701. I would have thought that was a good sign! Maybe it is another directors purchase - there was a 2m purchase in March 08. At the closing price in pence - not euros - if my maths is correct that is a purchase of £1.3m. Am I misunderstanding this in some way?
No I cant find anything - but there were 4 purchases of 250k shares @ .70/1 (showing on ADVFN) which are large trades for this share, which leads me to believe that someone out there is expecting some good news. Interim results are to is 30/9/09, but they are not actually released until much later - end nov / dec. Whether we get a preliminary announcement before this I am not sure. I did email the company to find out, but they havent replied. The other thing about todays trading is that the sp didnt fall back again like it usually does. I am hoping there is some kind of positive rumour out there and that the sp will be going north for a bit.
I realise I am probably talking to myself!! But theres a bit of volume going north on this one today .
anyone else out there bothering with this one?
Is that publication of accounts you refer to? Have you any insights into what might be expected? I presume all who follow this share picked up on the following news, but in case not her it is: " Notifiable Interest - Company received notification on 16th September, 2009 that Al Rajhi Holdings W.L.L. has increased its holding in the Company to 14,526,728 ordinary shares representing 9.29% of the issued share capital of the Company. "
oh why have I kept the faith with this bloomin share.............. I have broken all my rules and should have got out ages ago before it slipped this far back. Is anyone expecting any news?
yes - I am surprised it has dropped so low. Got back in a bit too high, wish I had forseen the 470! Well thats normal - how often does everyone think that......... Will have to be a bit patient once again...........
Any further views on whats going on with this one? The interim management statement 20/8/09 seemed ok - 51% increase in revenue / headcount reduction / new CEX / automation project to improve efficiency and reduce headcount / another contract for a bridge ..... But SP only slipping back. Have I missesd some other news which is negative? I am wondering if I have messed up getting into this one .................?
Yes I am watching this one - not in yet because it was tipped at the weekend and quite often there is a SP dip after a tip. I thought the annual report was promising and the lack of debt was a good indicator. Anybody else following this one?
likewise - read the ft and thought it worth a look.
I am in and out of this one, and think it is probably good long term. But last friday I read the following, and thought that will cause a drop in share price so I got out: "Oil services specialist Wellstream benefited from the oil price rally that peaked last summer, but it has encouraged additional capacity into its sector that is now coming on stream — particularly from rivals Technip of France and NKT of Denmark. That raises concerns over whether Wellstream’s above-average operating margins — 22% in 2008 — can be sustained. At 517½p, or 11 times 2009 earnings, a premium to its peers, avoid." The Times It certainly has gone south since then, but so has everything. At the same time I also read the following which sounds like good news: LONDON (ShareCast) - Flexible pipeline supplier Wellstream Holdings has secured 90% of 2009's anticipated revenues at the halfway point. The company, which designs and manufactures flexible risers and flow-lines used by the oil and gas industry, said its order backlog remains in excess of £220m Barclays site has it as a strong buy. So I am keeping an eye on it for my next entry point, but Im not quite sure how low it will go!! Surprise surprise - we would all be millionaires if we were getting that right all the time. I am interested in other views on this one.
Thanks for that too Jarvs. I have been watching those but not buying. XTA and KAZ could have been a good day trade today as it happens, but I just didnt feel confident that I would get it right - I felt it was just as likely to fall back as keep on going up. I would have thought they are both likely to come back down again now so I will wait. I am rather more into short term trading rather than "investing" at the moment, so while they probably really are very good for the long term thats no use to me for now. Yes sorry to all the VTG readers to go off topic - mind you nobody is saying anything much today! I am looking around for other things to consider - any suggestions from anyone? Dont worry I always DMOR !!
Well I think I will have to stick with ADVFN for now! When I make a real fortune month on month maybe I would consider an upgrade - altho if I was doing that well I wouldnt need it would I !!
When you say you have access to Bloomberg is that something anyone can access? I am finding the ADVFN streaming of live share prices very useful.
Thanks for that insight on WSM. Looks like you are right, its already well down this am. I shall try and get to grips with charting - its seems its a useful tool. Apologies to others for talking WSM on this site. Do you use any particular site or application for charting that you would recommend? I have just - yesterday - signed up for ADVFN level 2 so I will be investigating their charting facility, perhaps that will do it.
