It's good to have the spread bet option as well as holding the shares. I have just sold a few from my ISA and put the money into a spread bet with IG. You don't actually own the shares in a spread bet. You have to pay if they go down but you get the profit if they go up. Also with IG you can't short SEE only go long. It's worth reading up before you go into it...
