If you have a chance to look at the financial statements of IAG in 31/12/2023 compared to 31/12/2019, you will see similar EPS albeit more debt on the balance sheet, BUT what is standing out is that 2023 has less than half shareholder equity than 2019. This means the share price is still way undervalued now when the fundamentals are quite similar to back in 2019. Also flights are getting full, with ever increasing fares for long haul.. you do the maths.

Just bought some shares at this oversold price, will be waiting patiently for it to rise while collecting dividends.

The way I see it, IAG is investing by buying Air Europa on the cheap, and gaining access to Latin America, Caribbean and Asia markets as Madrid is a good gateway to the latin countries. Although I agree the timing to buy it and announce on results day is not good as we all expect share price to go up with good results. The EPS is increasing and will increase with more profits and no doubt dividends will resume. Just look at how much tickets are priced for long haul now. The money has to go somewhere, this time into investment, hopefully next will be into shareholders.

Will be interesting to see if IAG can grow it's operating margin % like RR did for 2022. Higher priced tickets plus cost cutting albeit higher fuel costs will see how the OP% is tomorrow. I'm hoping higher OP% will fuel the share price higher in coming years. Just bought another lot of shares.

I think with China opening up, it will be buying more gold from Russia to stockpile or for production use e.g. mobile phones, and POLY has a stockpile of gold.

Thanks for the advice Raydio and MaryBr190. I'm not yet into bonds as I have a number of years till pensionable age. Trying to build up a ISA and SIPP portfolio which focuses on value investing and diversification of stocks across the globe, also as a hedge against wild currency movements. I find the stock marketing fascinating, I'm constantly telling myself not to gamble as you can be drawn easily to bad positions based on emotion.

Thanks MaryBr190. I find it hard to top slice as when in good profit, it's sitting there looking pretty until nasty surprise comes along. Learnt my lesson. Likewise, I try to keep some spare cash to take advantage when dips come along like DLG yesterday, so managed to top up at 166p.

Thanks Raydio for sharing your experience in shares. Are you not tempted to put savings into bonds to earn an income rather than shares at retirement as shares can be risky? I find your strategy works only if you have spare cash and patience to ride out any paper loss and doing fundamental research on the stock so you are not catching a falling knife.

Also claims will come down eventually as as more electric cars on the road who have less movable parts that cause issues/breakdown.

The cost inflation DLG is facing is real. In my experience of getting my car fixed as it has a number of issues after no using it much during Covid, garages are charging much more for repairs, and they are having a busy time as people are getting back on the road, finding their cars less road worthy. This will pass and the share price will go up again. Patience, patience..

Yes the divi yield 2.7% is quite low but they are using the earnings to invest in newer stores and online technology for online sales. They are going for growth by investing in wider markets and new trends.

I've recently been to Westfield London in Shepherd Bush on a Thursday for a day out. I saw quite a number of people having Primark bags but not other retailers. Okay some M&S. Westfield seems to be quite quiet as I was expected it to be a bit busier with people shopping for Xmas presents. Primark bags stood out from what I saw...

That's what we've always done with our current insurer, told them we got cheaper quotes from other insurers and they matched it for us.

Just gutted I didn't buy more when the price went down to 850p ish less than a month ago as waiting for 6% dividend. Well got to wait for the next dip.

To be fair, the customer service person was very nice. Even when the call was cut off, he tried to call me a few times and managed to leave me a voice mail saying he will get this dividend sorted out for me as it seems stuck in their systems. And he did, the amount was in my account straight afterwards. Can't fault the customer service.

I called up Halifax asking about the ULVR divi not being paid. The call was cut off from a poor connection. After a few minutes the dividends appeared in my account. Magic!

Is anyone using Halifax sharedealing? I haven't received my ULVR dividends yet, anyone else having the same problem?

72p now would equate to 312p pre-RI. However, things are different now. Back in 2020, the market cap had tanked due to covid hence the need for a rights issue. Now it's two different worlds now as Pokerchips pointed out. Planes are flying, hours are being clocked.
