Not invested here bu fell similar pain within ODX. You final point more variants that will evade 1st gen vaccines will show up. Until we vaccinate 70% of the world popn (only 20% so far), then this is far from over. In fact any comparison to Spanish flu is out of kilter as "everyone" lived in their "geographic origins" i.e. a non connected world. The last point also renders annual jabs per seasonal flu logistically impractical globally.
As for the ex public schoolboy ex Oxbridge focussed Govts are you surprised as to incompetent decisions. Dominic Cummins was right the whole political machinery & bureaucratic underpinning is rotten = poor decisons. The last 18 months has highlighted years of main part mis-mgmt.
