Presumably another way to “value” this company is to look at the cost to a target company of proceeding with an IPO (worth say £100m to £200m) and notionally discounting for time and costs saved...

If I were Mike Kirk, whilst respecting the non-disclosure agreements in place, I would spell out for shareholders' benefit the network of contracts which are required to bring this pilot project to fruition. I would indicate those which have been signed and those which have not. The identities of the parties need not be specifically disclosed but could be referred to generically; for example "the (out of country ?) refinery, the shipping company etc. Above all, I would seek to be clear to the owners of the company (us) who is causing the delay (the end user?) and the general nature of the reason.

I posted on 7 March that I did not think this share would move very much until after the Presidential elections scheduled sometime in May because of the political history with the company which caused suspension of shares last year. The legals have now been sorted but I think serious money will not be invested here until we know which President/government will be elected and what his attitude towards oil/gas exploration companies will be. I think the company has a great future, given the huge proven reserves its sitting on but it will need considerable investment to commercialise it and the new government will have to approve plans for major building works etc. All this in the face of no doubt environmental concerns of the damage that could be done to what is a beautiful island that relies heavily on tourism. I'm very positive on this company but development will take time and investors should be well rewarded. One for the bottom drawer in my opinion.

Anyone know whether a firm date has been set for the general and presidential elections in May 2012? Given the political nonsense which has been extant in the country since the military coup in 2009 I cannot see much further progress for MOIL until elections are held and the results honoured. Difficult for the company to make too much progress on their development plans when they don't know who to negotiate with. Subject to that election result I can see a great future for MOIL and its sp. If you are prepared to take the political risk on the chin, today's sp levels make a great entry point for investors.
