Have been invested in here for many years from when times where good. and sp at 550 when was standard life. so every time i have bought more it has dropped bought at 450.350 250. do i buy in again has it dropped as far as can go ? decision decisions lol.

Well glad i decided to wait on wednesdays results before buying my first shares in fxpo. dodged a bullet lol.

Well just bought my first shares in itv. on the hope that maybe some positive news tomorrow. but my luck sp will drop like a brick.

Omally. i was thinking the same. i dont have shares in itv yet. have been watching and trying to catch the bottom. was just about to buy last week then suddenly price jumped up. i am now left wondering if should buy now or wait for results. wish i had a cristal ball lol.

Bugger was dithering on buying yesterday or waiting for results on 7th march.

Fingers crossed this now on the way up. looking a bit better sp now at where i bought in.

Well have held shares in standard life a looong time. also my pension and endowment with standard life. all was good until teamed up with aberdeen. and the stupid idea to change name to abrdn. but dont see the point of getting out now as would lose so much. as stupidly bought in again when dropping at 450. 350 . 250. doubt can get lower so just have to hold to at least get the div each year.

George. the only time i have ever bought shares was in standard life years ago. what a turd that has been should have sold when they where over 5 pounds. only just opened an hl share account a few weeks back and been trying to pick out a few shares to buy and hold. bought jd sports . and looking at vod and a few others that have had a big fall in sp with view to holding for long term. or takeover. .

Daniel. yes but seeing as sp still only 66. still a good price. wanted to buy incase rumours are true . and would be happy buying at that price even if not true.

Shows i am new to this . been trying to catch the bottom of vod. then saw the rumours of take over. so tried to buy in but said market closed.. being new to this thought market closed at 5pm. just found out its 4.30. hope does not open higher on monday.

Jun. i moved a lump of cash into hl share account with the intention of picking some shares that have dropped a lot. and with potential to recover. already bought jd sports after a big drop. like look of dr martins also had a big drop. and close brothers plus another few which have all had big drops in sp. i made a watch list a couple of years ago with hl. and all the shares i picked using same method all soared. rolls royse. nvidia. glencore. taylor wimpy. so this time round i am giving it a go but this time with real cash. lol

Phippsy. cheers just looked it up. never knew about this. i know i had to pay stamp duty when bought jd sport. is this because dec operates in us? can see i have lots to learn lol.

Phippsy. i am not looking to just cash in on the div. just looking for some shares i think could be good value to buy and hold rather than money sitting in the bank. recently bought jd sport. looking at this and dr martin. and close brothers. withholding tax? is that the stamp duty ?
