One huge lesson I've learned being new to this is averaging down, can't do it now with Cine as I dived in way too early and too heavily higher up the sp, so I'll have to wait for it to recover now, but have done it with an experimental handful of Easyjet shares over the last few days as it's been falling, it's now recovering and hasn't taken very long to get into a nice little return against what was invested, so hopefully the experience will start to pay off properly once I can eventually sell off the Cine shares...
Likewise @JB, I guess there's a lot of us under the water at the moment mate and no doubt with bigger numbers than I or us are at, hopefully we can all hold our breath long enough to come out of it the other end with a massive sigh of relief and some tasty gains lol
Best of luck to you too mate and keep holding! :)
Think we now know where all the negative sentiment on the markets is coming from now, it's Steve! lol
If other leisure businesses are anything to go by, it might not affect the sp in a hugely positive way in the short term, what it will do once the doors are open though is start getting that all important revenue flowing to keep everything afloat, then hope it's enough to keep it going down the line for the sp to make a full recovery.
60% down on mine, little option but to ride this out, scary lows at the moment that keep getting lower and lower, but whilst my money is in I've got the shares, pull out now and I've committed to a big loss, there's no turning it back after that, so in it stays for however long it takes...
If it carries on plummeting I think I'll be looking at where I can find some more funds from wherever possible to load up and massively average down from my current 89p! lol
Don'y be shy and get a cheeky punt in, it's been bobbing about in the 50's for a bit now, so if you're not already in, there's some gains to be made, but I guess at some point it will explode and these numbers will be long in the distance again, hindsight is a wonderful thing after the event has passed, you may regret it if you don't...
Cineworld still have the 31st as their reopening date, and a list of Covid measures on their site to ensure compliance, I can't see why they would delay it further, if they can get people in and be confident that it's a safe enough environment to be in to enjoy some big screen, then it's a good build up of custom up until the later releases come out.
Fingers crossed, it's been a long time coming, but not long to go now.
Still on their website that they'll be opening on the 31st, and have a full list of Covid measures on there ready for opening, so not sure why you would think they wouldn't be opening.
President Chump certainly isn't helping, that we are sure of...
That's the thing, it's like the weather, many can predict, but who can get it right?...
@Joker, I'll he holding on until then as not in a position to average down due to plunging all the funds in @89p, so will be waiting on this one :)
Dreaming of the dizzy heights of 89p here before breaking even, so a 1 in front of a couple of zeros would be very welcomed soon...
Could be another day of roller coaster effect, until it goes up, stays up, and goes up some more, then it's time for the up.
They're out busy stockpiling face masks ready for next week...
I'm in a position at the moment where I could easily average down but have decided to hold on, like you say, don't add to the troubles, the hardest part is knowing when things are bottoming out, just when you think it has sunk to a new low and invest, it goes lower and lower lol, but I think I'm with most people on that one, you basically invest when you think it's right, then wait...
@ShorterGuy, there is that as well, all adds to the experience I guess as a newbie to share dealing, and that I shouldn't have the expectation that a holding will necessarily make money overnight each time I invest.
One thing this share has taught me, and that is to be patient with a share holding... lol
Exactly the same as what I did JBaumber, thought it was a bargain when it had dropped 10p so went all in with the funds, I could buy again now just as much again to lower the average down, but not worth the earache from the Mrs lol, so like you, I'll be waiting for the greener days, however long that takes.... :)
