Tangiers Petroleum, which is currently suspended having not given funding details of its last Morocco well and also having not provided Interim results yet has made an announcement this morning. The company proposes a capital raising of $1.2m through the issue of 200 million shares at $0.006 per share. This money is required for ‘working capital and the assessment of new ventures’. I have seen some outrageous statements in 35 years looking at energy companies but this really does take the biscuit. Ever since the aborted Jacka deal and the replacement of its highly respected management team, Tangiers’ policy of betting the ranch on one high risk exploration well has been questionable at best. Trap Oil have also been on the radar screen for a while as they appear to have some good, rather undervalued assets in the North Sea if only someone would share their view. Today sees them sorting out the Suncor situation on Romeo and also cutting a deal with Prostar, a private equity vehicle who have apparently got a fund bulging with dollars ready to invest in undervalued assets and companies in the North Sea. Now form an orderly queue here please as I have seen and heard of quite a number of ‘undervalued assets and companies’ in the last year or so, many of which are just that. With a lot of M&A work going on in the sector could this be the mopping up of the smaller end of the North Sea predicted by a number of people for some time? We thought you would be interested to know that Mark Groves-Gidney will be making a presentation about Trapoil at the Mining & Resources Investor Evening on 23 January. The event will also see Alecto Minerals and Fastnet Oil & Gas present.

Athena It is intended that a workover will be performed on the "P4" well during the second half of 2014 in order to replace the failed ESP package in the well. The process for securing a drilling rig is underway.

here although not a lot to discuss, i sold out at 10.2 / 10.6 and bough more caza a while back , still waiting on that to materialise lol, might return here as interest picks up for next year , although with SRB on the board now something tells me not to ..... ATB

the recent tie up with the £££££££ big boys, Forse well commitment by caithness, nothing valued ??

wondering myself, some quick ramblings lol cash at year end 13.5m plus say 3 months at 2m and 3 months at 1.5m , = 10.5m = £24m cash less say 4m costs for first 6 months, could be more could be less ? not sure to be honest, so that leaves £20m MC £23m ? so £3m for $20 loan facility , assets, and future athena production ??? only thing i can think is market is expecting some capex at athena at some stage hence the neutral stance on valuing any future production into it ? thoughts ?
