The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Unfortunately like a lot who went before them, they have done an excellent job of training their customers to wait to buy it in their “Sale”
It’s not rocket science. They can’t afford to break the cycle as they have to produce figures to keep people happy. With money you can hold firm and ride it out. Customers will then pay the proper price. Now there is no point, you look, don’t buy, they need turnover, out come the Sale signs.
Trust me I wish it wasn’t like this as I have lost a fair amount here. Sadly my heart ( like lots of others ) wants one thing, but my brain tells me it’s only a matter of time.
I did accept the offer and got the ZINW shares. I have msg HL twice ( they replied both times ) after my second msg I got this as a reply
Having checked this further, the 14 day period did start on 17 December 2021, but only includes working days. Due to the bank holidays over Christmas and the new year, we're currently on day 12 of this period. As such, you can expect the cash to be allocated to your account within the next few days.
Perhaps tomorrow will be day 14!
It has been a total mess. I don’t blame HL. I have made a good profit, but nothing like what we all should have made.
Thanks for that. I have been viewing it on my phone and have to log in on a computer to see that. Incidentally I have not had any correspondence from HL, apart from constant offers of advice ( as I have reached a critical age ) .
Thanks very much for that. I’ve had these shares for years. Bought into them after the lenigas era. They were supposed to be my “One day Rodney “ share. Well life is full of disappointments. I’ve made money ( perhaps not as much as I’d hoped for ). I’ll hang on and get as much as I can. It’s about 10% more than the present value and I don’t need the money enough to give that part away to someone that will ultimately make a lot of money from this.
The Primark effect?

After a rise mid day on Wednesday I tried to sell just over 48000 share. I couldn’t get a price so I tried to split it and sold 24000. Tried again for similar amount and no price. Tried 10000 and sold. Tried again price had fallen by 2p. Thursday and Friday were similar, in fact someone else posted this.
StrangeFri 09:43Tried to do a sample trade on IG and, despite a bid price of 23 can only sell (not that I want to) for 20.6?
Not a huge amount of shares but that is quite a drop....
I cannot help but think that today’s news was known by others on Friday.
I still have just over 14000 shares and my Wednesday profit is a distant memory
