@southcoastbather - it was out of retail investors hands, the bid shareholders could vote in one way and the decision gets passed. Right?

@Franalex - it might just confirm what they said in the "Debenhams is Back" release. They might be waiting for after close period information they can share like a new funding agreement (Mike Ashley offered to help with this). Or solid performance in the last 6 months showing they are performing as expected. Then again... it could be what you say and be horrible news.

@Kachrafilter - Thanks! Have you tried reaching out to Emma again? It's moronic on Debenhams's part to let this run as they have been.

Is Mike Ashley the only person allowed to bid(?). If not, then it could lead to a bidding war.

Bfdinvestor - I saw Kachrafilter's post. I tried contacting Emma, Dan, and some other people connected to the company. No reply. Not even a copy and pasted response.

I have tried contacting debenhams in multiple ways and not heard anything back, i tried multiple people within the company.

So they at least updated the market with some data but they have yet to provide the full results, which normally are published in May. They have 7 working days (excluding today) to publish that. Or the shares face suspension until they can publish the results.

Level5 - you're right about the "desperation, anxieties, ..." etc.

Most of this (and other) LSE Boards are full of this, especially when you look at AIM or small market cap stocks. it gets very personal very fast, people arguing with whatever limited information they have and can discern.

That aside, Debenhams is fascinating, a lot of their issues at the moment are because the silence give space for the the doubt and worries to thrive.

Whole thing is risky for dan finley because he doesn't have a track record of being a ceo and if this is how he conducts business then he may never be a ceo again

Saying the obvious here, apart from the factual stuff like AIM rules and who we can contact... everything else is just my opinion.

Take that as you will considering I cannot get in touch with anyone at Debenhams.

Share price would be down a hell of a low more if the market thought a complete collapse was on the cards.

At the current levels a whole lot is priced in... any news has to be better than no news.
