Oil price is recovering after the scare story leaks about OPEC on Thursday/ Friday. They are increasing bdp by far less than was expected.

Can’t help thinking there are shenanigans in play and people are trading the swings .

Hope we see some recovery today, Oil price up over 1% already.

£4.50 before Christmas ( sorry to mention the C word) hopefully £5 in short order for new year .

I’ve got a personal target north of £6 and I think 2027 could see that .

Things seem to be moving in the right direction with getting back to being an Oil & Gas Company .

I was reading this morning that the insurance costs of transporting oil through the region has now increased from 3.5 million dollars to an eye watering 4.5 million dollars. If navigational technology is being compromised then I would guess it will become astronomical to insure.

Cost of Tanker - £100 million

Cost of full capacity oil at $80 a barrel- $160

Million.

That means if 3 tankers are on fire - that’s an insurance claim over $700 million.

Not forgetting the poor crew .

I was hoping to get in for my final tranche below £4 .

Alas I think if Oil hits $80 early tomorrow morning then we will open above that .

All eyes on The Strait of Hurmaz.

Any hint of a problem and it’s anyone’s guess , Saudi can pump as much as it wants but logistics is key .

This is not the place to talk politics, although the price of Oil is very much tied up with world affairs obviously.

There’s a book I read called - The Prize - By Daniel Yergin that covers how important Oil is to us all .

Simple fact is - the world is a dangerous place.

The world of Iran with nukes is a very very dangerous place .

I’ve been in BP on and off for 15 years since Deep Water Horizon and the share price never looked right without beginning with the number -4 .

I think we might get back there soon .

Should move comfortably into the £3.80 range now with oil price increase .

The price in the US converts to £3.79 with after sales price around £3.80 .

Much like the price of petrol at the pumps always goes up quickly with oil price increases but seems to come down slower. The effect of BP share price works in reverse- ie if the oil price drops then our share price drops instantly, however when the oil price goes up it’s much slower to take effect .
