It's not like a sale of both assets would be surprise, considering it was mentioned in the firt RNS stating about citic and vtb approaching eurasia on a success fee basis.
The banks will of been going for a complete sale as that gets the best price, which in turn gets them their best success fee, it's all very very simple tbh.

Those people are locked in, unable to convert.

There are more out there, but the director ones etc can't be converted if they are in the middle of a deal, so they will never be converted if the company does indeed get sold.
