Earl, Just because Tesla may be building a lithium factory, it does not show the full picture. Lithium is a scarce resource, sodium is not therefore not sustainable over a period of time. Let's say the technology on sodium advances, Tesla owns around 20% of the EV market, 80% is not Tesla. Moreover, EV market is growing and in the next 10 to 30 years, it will dominate transportation having a much bigger share value. The demand for batteries will increase and will become the norm.
I do not know where other manufacturers will play, but we cannot assume its lithium only as again, this is scarce and expensive. Therefore I think your link and point on lithium is a bit naive and does not present reality. Of course you could DGI could be in for a tough ride, we don't know, we don't work there, but I would there is a decent chance of this becoming a reality.
