The mm's simply need to square their books [they were selling shares they did not have - they went short], now they have marked them down, clawing them back at lower prices - making a profit.
Stay in there, it's their job, sometimes to the benefit of the "club"-boys that is.

Eric is forgetting when they were called EMED, there was a 30 to 1 consolidation. The sp equates to 9.75p in old money. I think Emed's sp in old money was about 12p which equates to £3.60 in new money. ATH forATYM maybe, but not for the long term holders !

The final dividend for 2020 of 12.18 pence per share, amounting to £35,215,000, was proposed by the Board on 10 June 2020 and has not been included as a liability at 31 March 2020. The dividend will be paid on 11 September 2020, following approval at the Company's AGM, to those members on the register at the close of business on 7 August 2020.

When a hedgefund closes a short position the mm will know about this. They need to walk the sp down to square their books. Blackrock closed in September by buying around 68/69p. The mm walked the sp down, spooking investors into selling at around an average of 55p. The mm then delivers the stock to Blackrock, and they in turn return the stock to the stock lender - both the mm and the hedgefund making a nice profit in the process. Pretty sure that's the way it works but open to correction.
