Interesting Phoebus is mentioned as him/herself but the post doesn't appear on Phoebus posting history
and Phoebus if anything is a ramper not a deramper (if there are only two camps to choose from) judging from the very sensible posts they make on OMI regularly. In favour of a SP climb, rather than decline..
odd
my take in case its helpful or interesting to anyone
Things to look at:
Balance Sheet resiliance - aka cash in bank for simpler assessment of miners
Actual results (financial and operational)
cash burn rate - try to find out whats being spent
Strategy/Plan/Board executing - what they doing and who is actually doing it. credentials.
3rd party ties and joint ventures - sorts lots of smaller issues and carries through cost barriers etc..
route to market and viability (which in mining means the reality of extraction and logistics)
liquidity - aka demand and frequency of trades
news and sentiment - what is the educated world saying (be careful of propaganda here though)
sensible balanced views on BB's supported by rationale and fact
trying to anticipate where climbs are beginning, rather than declines are continuing - aka catching the bottom - aka really bl00dy hard
what to ignore
most of what is said day to day on BB's (sorry all as there is some great info but I don't recommend this as a place to base the actual investment decision)
charts on stocks that arent really chartable (not liquid enough or too early stage)
obvious propaganda and excessively positive news (where good news is fois gras fed it should be a flag of concern)
meaningless RNS traffic - sign the BOD are desperate
throwing too much money too quickly rather than building gradually (I'm a culprit here - more than once)
there are more but this is the main summary of how i'd approach
looking at morning price action i think the 827k looks like a buy too... do others agree?
Id say, looking at price movements today and around 1-1.30pm, that the large trade posted after hours is a buy.
Makes a lot of sense looking at the price action up to 3pm too.
Bodes well for monday and next week as well i’d say
Indeed HH i agree with you (again)
Doesnt justify or warrant bu11**** one post wonder block capital trash though, that then gets lots of responses and airtime. That was my only point
This board is back busy again which is great and is of the best there is. From you to Sotolo to Dr R to Masks and the rest of the constructive sensible knowledgable folk. All very much respected by myself and am sure others
That new interview is excellent and just what an investor wants to hear . Brilliant in fact.
esp re balance sheet strength, project strategy and funding (again - to the worriers).
Why on earth do the tactical neghead thread starters get their fear mongering threads airtime.
Its that interview and the impact in the future of all the current activity we should be talking about. Not silly unjustified negative price predictions.
hopefully this is where the overdue and fully justified blast int the 30's and beyond actually starts. How it didn't happen straight away after the deal was announced I do not know but nevermind if its started now.. only lost a few days.
still not had the overdue Li and Au drilling updates either - both of which should be fairly blockbuster if past precedent is anything to go by
i reckon so.. not necessarily 17% but daily gains and climb back started IMO
HH - am increasingly enjoying reading your updates and contributions. Credit where due and am all for paying compliments. Am at the point where when i see your name on a post i am very motivated tk read and soak in. Kudos and thank you. Best of luck to ya.
rockstar interview to support the brilliance of the situation. I think a couple of blockbuster RNS's arent far away either..
More drilling results for Lithium (which i think people will pay a LOT more notice to now - just read some of the previous ones from months passed, they are ridiculous)
plus Gold updates
any day now on either and I think there will be a rocket attacked to the SP when they do
All subjective SB from an investor standpoint versus the decisions being made inside the company. Can see your point of view to an extent but depends what you see/think when you look at them. i personally see them as a South American precious metal explorer come, latterly, base metals too. a year ago was all about gold but its now about a lot of gold but also more than just that.
as I say, subjective though.
As soon as APTA became a VMA Orosur stopped being a pureplay gold business. they are still majority gold and very clear on looking to turn the ANZA project into a tier 1 HUGE gold discover... just so happens it will also be a silver discovery, a zinc discover, a copper discover and an iron discovery... don't blame them. blame the earths core. its very good news news. a multi million gold asset is good enough. the rest is just decorative cake icing.
this new project is very interesting and fits with the types of base metals they have arrived at by default in their portfolio. in a location that is both brilliant for OMI and also as a base metal prospect.
seems very exciting to me
notice the wording in the RNS that in laymans terms says "we are doing this because we have lots and lots of money in the bank to spend as we see fit on future projects"
hopefully this will dispel any fears of short term raising.
its written in black and white - the balance sheet is strong
With you Nap. strange change of tune overnight.... makes for odd reading all things considered
OMI have stacks of cash and more on the way and are paying for sweet FA atm really.....
they filled their coffers late last year to have a 2 year carry
they sort of have to do this.... as so few shares in issue.
i find the mind games and manipulation fascinating.
all part of the AIM antics.
those that can predict I salute- as its some skill. i think the guess was 10% down to collect shares and then climb to c25% up
cant imagine this finishes anywhere near this price today... so I'm with the person who predicted the above.... but am less skilled to know such predictions
A distraction from what? Watching two of the worlds majors do all the drilling on their other project, pay for the drilling and pay OMI too for the privilege?
Counting cash and staring at an ever stronger balance sheet must be incredibly time consuming.
Thats correct Phoebus
since the placing they have been watching Newmont and Agnico pay for all the drilling whilst they counted piles of cash and shut an office they don't use to save even more. the balance sheet is almost as strong as those drill results
i think the presentation is going to be telling... several months of progress and drilling behind the scenes... yes the RNS was awesome and the 70% lift is both exciting and overdue... but I think the story later today is what we should really be excited about
