It wouldn't be too cynical to think this was a deliberate mistake to try and drum up a bit of publicity and speculation??

If memory serves, in the interims they announced they were 90% hedged at either $80 or $85 for the coming year.

They also said that due to their competitors being only 60% or so hedged would lead to difficulties and collapses this winter. That's an interesting read looking at oil prices lately.

What do they do to minimise fuel costs? Launch an unmerciful seat sale, to Max capacity as aircraft and crew availability allow? Extra routes at lower than hedged price, reduces unit cost and puts the pressure back on the competition?

It's an issue that hasn't been discussed here amidst the volatility lately. Any opinions?

This whole thing is a 10 year process. Just think of the manpower required to adapt 40 years of integration with the eu, and then to form new fta's with other blocs simultaneously. Madness.
